Join the Club

Looking for a fun afternoon or evening out, stamping cool projects, learning new techniques, munching, laughing, making new friends, using cool new tools?  The Stampers Six Club is just what you've been looking for.  Now forming - new Stampers Six clubs.  These small groups (usually six people) take turns being the "hostess" - bringing the snacks and reaping the hostess benefits.  Everyone who attends gets to make the exclusive club projects for free.  All of the planning and preparation is done for you, so you just have to do the fun part - the stamping, punching and assembling.  Each month you'll take home some cute projects and learn something new, all while having a great time.  You'll also build your stamp collection (or add to your tools, paper stash and embellishments) in a manageable, budgeted manner.  It's only a five month commitment of a $25 minimum purchase, beginning on Sept. 18.  The afternoon session is from noon until 3 p.m., and the evening session begins at 6:30 p.m.  Based on the members' interest, we'll have a mixture of cards, gift giving ideas, scrapbook pages, home decor, and techniques.

Stay tuned for news of The Big Shots, too - a specialized club for owners of the Big Shot or another die cutting machine.  This versatile tool has so much potential, you'll be amazed at how creative you can get with die-cut shapes.  Each month a different die will be featured.  Details will follow.

We meet at my home in Hanover, PA, but attendance is optional.  If you can't attend but would still like to have the projects mailed to you, an additional cost of $5 will cover postage.

It's a Glorious Morning!

I have been such a bad, bad blogger of late.  It is so hard to stay indoors when I'm at home during these beautiful summer days, and there have been very few days that I've actually been home this summer at all!  When I am here, I have to play catch-up on my household chores and normal daily tasks that have been neglected.  I do find time to stamp and to play with my wonderful newest Stampin' Up! tools, stamps, papers, and my newest toy, the Big Shot!  But now it's time to get back to blogging and sharing what I love - my stamping, paper crafting and scrapbooking.  I'm a little rusty and might need a refresher course on how to blog, but I'll do my best.

I'll start by sharing the card I swapped at the SUDSOL group gathering at the Stampin' Up! Convention last month in Salt Lake City.  You might recognize the stamp from last year's catalog.  It's called "Morning Soft", and is such a great image to watercolor (my very favorite way to color).  I'm a huge fan of Morning Glories, so this set was one of my "must-haves" last year.  But like so many of the gorgeous stamps I buy, it was neglected and pushed aside to make room for other stamps.

I challenged myself to use some of those previously neglected stamps, at least a few times.  This one really got a work-out, however, because the swap I signed up for ended up being 77 cards!! Yes, I love to watercolor, and I love the stamp, but 77 just about did me in.  I must say that I received absolutely wonderful samples in that swap, though, and I'm so glad I did it.  If you're a demonstrator, you should check out Sudsol.  It's such a supportive, informative, beneficial, generous group.   http://www.sudsol.org

Image was stamped on watercolor paper with Stazon ink, then watercolored with Watercolor Wonder Crayons and the Aquapainter.  There's a bit of shine in the flower centers - that's Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  The card is Lavender Lace, with accents of Handsome Hunter.  And the other accents were created with the new Scalloped Border Punch and Eggplant grosgrain ribbon.  I stamped a Mother's Day greeting, but you could substitute Happy Birthday, Thinking of You, or any one of a number of sentiments.

New Stampin' Up! Catalog - Get Yours NOW

I am so excited to share the latest and greatest with you - the 2008 Fall/Winter Stampin' Up! Catalog and Idea Book!  I attended the SU Convention last week in Salt Lake City, and as usual, came home with my head spinning with fresh new ideas, tips, projects and products to share with you.
